Consultation

At Novello Skin we offer free consultations to discuss patients concerns, find out about their medical history and consider which treatment would be the best and safest option.

We understand that making the right decision for having aesthetic procedure could be a rather daunting task, it is vitally important to be comfortable with your choice of practitioner, who will be carrying out the treatment. If you are considering  any aesthetic procedure with Novello Skin or any other practitioner there are a few very important questions you should ask your before making your decision.

Is the practitioner medically qualified?
What aesthetics training/assessment/qualifications has your practitioner taken?
Is the practitioner fully insured?
What are the risks, associated with selected procedure?
How clean is the environment for aesthetic medical procedure?
Which product(s) does the practitioner use and why?
When do the results become noticeable and how long will they last?
Can I be certain that all necessary actions will be taken if case of emergency/ allergic respond?

“Is the practitioner medically qualified?”
On one hand, non-surgical medical procedures became more advanced and affordable over last few years. However, this quickly developing industry has been unregulated and attracted some unqualified people to offer these services for their clients, putting them at risk and giving a negative reputation to the rest of aesthetic society.
Therefore, it is important to know what the qualification your practitioner has and ask to see their “Medical registration”. Medical practitioners are accountable for their practice and regulated by the professional regulatory bodies.

“What aesthetics training/assessment/qualifications has your practitioner taken? Have they undergone advanced training in facial aesthetics and have experience?”
While we stress once again that medical qualifications are essential for performing aesthetic medical procedures, additional training and qualifications in aesthetic medicine are vital. One day training is not enough for becoming an expert (although you can come across this fact), thus relevant experience is very important! Do not hesitate to ask , the qualified practitioner will be glad to discuss all of the above and show their certificates.

“Is the Practitioner Fully Insured”..?
Make sure that your practitioner has full medical malpractice insurance & ask to see proof of that prior to treatment. Aside from the name and formal qualifications of the practitioner, date and indemnity it should also list the products that the practitioner is insured to use (e.g. Botulinum toxin type A: Botox, Vistabel, Bocouture and dermal fillers Juvederm, Restylane, Teosyal, Belotero, etc). Non Medical Professionals cannot get this type of insurance, so if they cannot produce it, they practice illegally without insurance or are not Medically Trained.

“What are the risks, associated with selected procedure?”
It is an important part of the medical consultation to give information not only about treatment benefits but what risks are involved. A medically trained practitioner will be able to answer these questions without hesitation.

“How clean is the environment for aesthetic medical procedure?”
Make certain that the procedure is performed in a clinical environment with maintaining ASEPTIC TECHNIQUE- this means a condition in which living pathogenic organisms (i.e. infectious agents) are absent. It is achieved by your practitioner using Sterile Pack. This pack should include sterile gloves & sterile dressings, the practitioner should open this in front of you.

” Which product(s) does the practitioner use and why?
When it comes to quality, not all aesthetic products are the same. Understanding how they may differ is important and something to discuss with your practitioner.
In Europe, all medical devices (which includes aesthetic products such as fillers and breast implants) must follow the ‘Medical Devices Directive’ which ensures manufacturer’s products and processes meet relevant standards of quality assurance. Assuming these standards have been met, the product gets CE mark approval, which allows the manufacturer to legally put the product on the market. When it comes to international standards are there any additional reassurances to look for? Some products will also have met the requirements of the…More at: http://www.qualityiskey.com/en-gb/medical-aesthetics#sthash.9OL3HYFu.dpuf

“When do the results become noticeable and how long will they last?”
Depending on the treatment, results could be immediate (e. d. Hyaluronic Acid Dermal Fillers) or delayed(e.g. several days with muscle-relaxing injections with Botulinum Toxin type A, several months after initial micro-needling or mesotherapy treatments). Longevity of results varies from treatment to treatment as well as individual factors. A qualified medical practitioner will be able to give all the necessary information and review you regularly if necessary.

” Can I be certain that all necessary actions will be taken if case of emergency/ allergic respond?”
Your practitioner should carry a anaphylactic shock kit and has to be trained up-to-date in order to help in emergency situations quickly and competently.
