Chemical Peels

Chemical Peels

Chemical peel is solution, a type of acid derived from fruit or botanical source, applied to the skin surface with anti-aging, skin regenerating, texture and tone improving purposes. It exfoliates the skin through removing outer layer and helping to “boost” the cell renewal process. Also, peel ingredients have anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and anti-bacterial properties to help clear break outs and reduce redness.

The peel depth is defined by the type and strength of acid. Most of them work on very superficial layer of skin.

After care with moisturizer and sun block are important. Choice of a good skin care regime will enhance the chemical peel results and will be discussed during face-to-face consultation with your practitioner.

Most superficial peels are performed with Alpha Hydroxy acid (AHA) family. For instance, Glycolic peel, indicated for the gentle treatment of fine lines and wrinkles, pigment spots, damage due to sun exposure, matt or dull complexion, loss of skin elasticity and mild acne.

Mid-depth peels are represented by Trichloroacetic acid (TCA) peel, which works by coagulating skin proteins. It leads to an impressive improvement in skin texture with a reduction in blotchy pigmentation, freckling and dry sunspots.
